DONE!

Okay...so I like it better now that everything is all sewn together.  Isn't it strange how looking at pieces and parts on a design wall (or safely stowed away in a box) we can dislike what we see.  That's how we get UFO's...right?  Then once its complete our opinion changes.

I guess I've learned a valuable lesson...PERSEVERANCE...because it will work out in the end.

On a side note...I've started two long term projects that I'll work on in between projects
and when I need to take a break from current projects.

An interesting note about these two blocks...they are both foundation pieced with printed foundation facing up.  It's actually a brilliant idea.  I found it much quicker the usual paper pieced method.  There's no putting the fabric on one side and turning it over to sew.  There's no need for freezer paper or Add a Quarter Rulers.  And best of all...no fabric wast...absolutely NONE.

Would anyone be interested in a tutorial?  And/or joining me in making one of these quilts?

I would love to know the Everlasting Wreath for sure.

I would love a tutorial. I don't like ripping paper so I don't do paper piecing very often.

Love the flimsy. It is so eye catching :)

I've always wanted to make a Pineapple block quilt. The colors you've chosen are beautiful. I would be interested in reading the tutorial. Anything that would make paper piecing less confusing :)

Wow - it looks really great! Yes, I know that phenomenon quite well. :D One of the best quilts from last year's finishes was like that - HATED it about 1/3 through the piecing, so it dragged for a good 3 years. LOVED IT the day the flimsy was born. I just sent a quilt out that I fully expect to go through the same metamorphosis when I get it back. Right now, it's not my colorway, it's just so BLAH to me to look at. But I am sure it will magically come alive with the awesome quilting Margaret has planned for it. :)

Here's to that moment of chrysalis!

The Everlasting Wreath block is one I've liked for a really long time - saw it on a blog and loved it but never got around to trying it out. I'd love a tutorial - the paper piecing you're describing is intriguing me. I couldn't find the pattern over at Laundry Basket Quilts .... do you have a direct link to it?

Your quilt looks great finished. Its always satisfying to finish something you're not sure you like any more. I would love to see a tutorial on the method for the blocks you're making. I love foundation piecing.

I have avoided paper piecing for a long time because I did not want to sew from the back. I would love it if you did a tutorial! Thanks

Hi - I hope I catch you before you set about quilting this top - you've got a flying geese unit going the wrong way, which will need turning around. There are three spinning stars in the top row, and two in the second - it's in the dark surround of the second star on the bottom. Gee... this seems so garbled - hope you find it with my lousy description. Am enjoying your blog, and will certainly look out for the paper piecing tutorial. Margaret

Your blocks are beautiful. I would love to see how you do the paper piecing differently. I especially like the idea of no waste!

How exciting that I ran on to your post! I also started the Everlasting Wreaths a few weeks ago and I also ordered the Hawaiian Delight pattern and recieved it a few days ago. I can't wait to work on them more.
