Thankfully I'm getting back into the swing of things...except with my blog. I don't know what it is. I think it's this quilt that's been layed out on my design wall for weeks.
I just don't like it and I'm not inspired to finish it. And being stuck in the house for the past five days due to ice and snow is not helping the situation. What's wrong with me? I think it might be the cream paisley print. I'm not sure I like it. What do you think?

OMG! I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS QUILT!! You really are in a funk not to have a desire to finish this beauty!!! It is a stunner!!!! I sure hope a little ray of sunshine sparks your interest in finishing it up.....too pretty to be put back as an UFO! Seriously!!!
Hello Monica
It's nice to have news on your blog .
What's wrong with your quilt ? I don't know, perhaps the center is a little too drab . It would be too sad not to finish it .
Have a nice day
I just love it!! What is troubling you about it...I love it so much!!
love your quilt! Would you consider adding an applique to the center. There is so much beautiful piecing, that the center could use a little boost.
This quit is Gorgeous ! You are SO close to finishing it. I agree maybe a applique in the center
I like it...I like the soft feel it has. I really love it!
Micki
You may not love it but I sure do. LOL I made that quilt and it's one of my favs.
I understand your blog funk - don't push yourself - it's suppose to be fun not an obligation.
I think you need to start a brand new project and let your heart sing.
You already know that I love this pattern. Did you only use the Luna Notte or did you add others? I think it's turning out wonderful. Have you been able to pin point what is off? I really can't see anything. It is just so lovely!
I wish I could get started on my version, but too many other WIPs to even think of getting a start on my Elizabeth.
Stay warm!
I think that you have a case of the winter blues. This quilt is gorgeous. I suggest that you suck it up, finish it and then you will see how wonderful it is.
I've missed you.
Nice to see you back! I love your Elizabeth quilt. It's been on my list to do for a long time! It's sure to be a classic! Winter is a hard time to be inspired- don't make a decision until we get a sunny day!
I like the quilt. The colors are soft and relaxing - just perfect for a good night's sleep. Finish the quilt! Hope you feel perky soon.
Glad you're back, my friend. I know what funks are all about so no need to apologize.
I too love your quilt and see nary a thing wrong with it. If you're not up to finishing it...even though you're so close...put it away until the quilt faerie comes and sprinkles her faerie dust all over it and makes it good again.
You've been missed but I agree with Darlene...blogging should be fun and not an obligation. Just pop in now and again and let us know that you're alive and kicking. We're her for you, remember that.
I came back to take another look at this quilt and read the comments. :0) Seriously....I think winter blues....go ahead set it aside for Spring and start something tha you can be really jazzed up about at the moment....even if just piecing a simple block with your favorite colors to make a pillow. I honestly believe you have a beauty here and once it is finished and your husband quilts it...you'll love it like the rest of us.
This has got to be one of my favorite patterns and I really love yours. I wouldn't do a thing to it. It's perfect. I think you just have a bad case of cabin fever. I think that the paisley is fine. I would say finish it - I think that you'll be happy that you did.
I think your quilt is beautiful. However, if I were you, I would put it away for awhile and work on something new and fresh. You may get the bug to start on that quilt again but then again, it may not be for a year or so. I hope you get out of your funk soon. I was there not too long ago and it is not a fun place to be!
Well Monica, the census is in. Put it away and bring it back another day. Yes it has been a very dreary winter. But spring is just around the corner..
I love it! Perhaps, you need to add something more to make it come alive for you. What about another border?
Glad that you are back blogging! We were iced in earlier in the month. What a winter!
Binding and backing can change things, too. It's a beautiful quilt. I think the suggestions to put it away and start something that will make your spirit zing is a great suggestion. Take care!
My first visit to your blog. I do like your quilt and sometimes I get in a similar spot. Maybe I've used something not quite to my preferred liking or maybe the values are off. You're so close to finishing--just put it aside a bit more and find something that really brings out the child in you. I did that recently and now have a new breath to finish up some UFO's. Kids play is reviving!!
Your quilt is SO beautiful! If I were you, I'd put it another room for a while and begin a NEW project with bright sunny colors to remind you of spring and summer. Maybe do this new project in the form of a table runner or mat?
The snow/ice/dreariness aren't helping matters, are they? A day of fun in another setting sounds just the ticket.....maybe shopping for fabric for future projects?
That would revive me!
Happy quilting!
Karen
Hello. I haven't visited your blog much, but if you want, I would be happy to finish it for you!!!! Let me know. Email me privately and we can discuss it. I actually love it, and sounds like a lot of others do as well. Sometimes we just need to get past (that whatever has stalled us). But really, I would help you.........I'm a avid piecer/longarm quilter/lover of all things quilting! gloria g.
I think your quilt is beautiful! Remember, they always look even more fantastic after they are quilted. It's definitely worth finishing. Maybe you would feel better about it if you stopped and did a small project like a fun pillow or bag and came back to it.
Good luck!
It's looking like majority has it ... pack it away for a while and work on something bright and cheery, come back to it another time. Winter blues and cabin fever stink ... no need hatin' on a beautiful piece of work when a change of quilting wall scenery could help. Can't wait to see what's up next for you! :) Glad to hear from you again!!
You may be in a funk but your quilt is looking very good!
Hey there Monica! 8-)
Thanks so much for your visit/comment on my blog!
I get into these funks too at times... You'll find your way back at some point... when the weather gets better for sure!!!
I absolutely love this project! Love the pattern, and your fabric choices are great!!
Happy stitchings!
I did not read the others comments. I would think that maybe a bright blue thrown in. A small amount. Something with a zing to it. I like it but I do see what you are saying. It is calm and that is nice. I have a quilt sitting on my design wall and nothing else is getting done either.
I really think it's pretty!! Honest. It looks just like a cozy cottage quilt. I really like the fabric too. The dark brown in the HSTs really brings the design to life. Have you looked at the photo? I know that sounds like a silly question, but sometimes I'll take a photo of the quilt laid out and it gives a better view than just looking at it. Good luck! :-)
Me podría pasar horas y horas viendo blog como este. Sencillamente maravillosos. un besazo.
There is nothing wrong with that quilt! I love it.
Please finish it.
Your quilt is really pretty. I hope you get out the funk soon, so you can finish.
I like it, but if I was going to change anything I would put sometime different in the centre. Maybe a star, or appliqué something? The quilting will make a big difference to this quilt. I really like the colours and I'm sure you will love it when it's done!
Your quilt is just stunning, and when you get to quilt it, it will be even more beautiful, and I bet you'll love it too :o)
Good luck on the finish, you'll get there :o)

I really love this quilt pattern and have just recently finished collecting the fabrics to make one myself. A lady once said to me "a finished quilt that is not 100% is better than an unfinished quilt" I'm not sure if I agree completely but I do think this quilt is worth finishing. Good luck with it!
